The Delta AH500 redundant PLC was successfully deployed in the monitoring system of an extra-long separated tunnel in East China (featuring four lanes in both directions, a single-bore length of over 7,500 meters, and a design speed of 80 km/h). This system required the controller to possess multiple capabilities, including ultra-high computing power, adaptability to extreme environments, convenient maintenance, and compatibility with multiple devices. Featuring a complete redundant architecture with dual CPUs, dual main backplanes, dual power supplies, and dual communication channels, the AH500 achieves seamless switchover within 20ms. Its G3 protective coating meets dust and moisture resistance requirements, and it supports hot-swappable modules, allowing faulty modules to be replaced without system shutdown. Furthermore, it deeply integrates emergency telephone and broadcast systems, video patrol systems, and more, enabling highly efficient coordination among multiple subsystems.

2. Water Treatment and Water Supply Systems
Delta PLCs are extensively used in the water treatment industry. In the Phase II expansion project of the Hedong Water Plant in Qingyuan District, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, Delta utilized the AH500 Series PLC paired with a 10-inch high-color, high-resolution DOP-B Series HMI. This setup was applied in the raw water pump station, dosing room, and water supply pump station for real-time program monitoring. The AH500 Series boasts high-speed program processing capabilities (taking only 0.3 seconds for 1k steps) and a large program capacity (256k steps), while supporting hot-swappable modules for maintenance without downtime. The system connects controllers at various processing stations via a Modbus TCP fiber optic ring network, transmitting monitoring and control data to the central control room.

Additionally, Delta PLCs play a core role in constant pressure water supply systems. Through the built-in PID computing module, the PLC automatically adjusts the output frequency and the number of active VFDs, achieving intelligent control for variable-frequency constant pressure water supply. When paired with electromagnetic flowmeters, Delta PLCs can also enable automatic meter reading, saving labor costs and improving accuracy.

3. Energy Storage and Energy Management
Delta PLCs also perform outstandingly in the new energy storage sector. Collaborating with partners, Delta developed a monitoring and management system solution for energy storage cabinets, utilizing Delta’s full-featured VTScada software as the management system. This effectively solved the challenges of system integration and stable interaction with external power supply systems.

In the lithium battery electrode rolling process, the Delta DVP-ES2 Series controller (using the EtherCAT protocol) is responsible for the closed-loop control of roller pressure. On automatic polyurethane foaming machines, the Delta EH2 Series PLC is integrated with text displays and VFDs for comprehensive solutions. In metering systems, the Delta SV Series PLC serves as the main controller, driving a 4-axis independent AC servo system to achieve precise automatic weight adding and reducing control.
